Valentine’s Day is not your typical family holiday. Still, according to a survey, up to 52% of consumers celebrate Valentine’s Day. Single or taken, everyone will gladly take advantage of a great deal if they see one. With the latter fact in mind, we’ve compiled a quick list of ways to enhance your digital signage for the special day and make it a happy day for everyone!
Apply ambient Valentine’s Day visuals
As you run your content through digital signage software, you can easily include semi-transparent overlays to specific pieces of your content. Apply this note for other holidays as well! For example, snowflakes in display corners during winter, sunshine during summer, and rose petals during Valentine’s day.
Keep in mind how specific overlays you create or find will interact with the content. At the end of the day, you don’t want minor eye-candy to make the main content difficult to read or understand. A clever trick would be to use such frames on offers that are only taking place as we approach a key event. The eye will quickly go to the animation standing out, and even learn to expect it in the future!
Feature offers!
Unlike other holidays on the calendar, there’s not a long period of time leading up to Valentine’s Day as there is for the New Year or Christmas, for instance. You can still utilize content leading up to it, reminding customers and giving them an excuse to browse through the products. However, the actual hype tends to happen in the short days prior to it. While not the biggest holiday, people still make plans on how to spend it with their loved one and buy gifts.
In those few short days ahead of Valentine’s Day, enhance your digital signage by prominently featuring your offers. Gift bundles or notable discounts should take up half or even the entire display to really draw attention and let the viewer know there is a deal going on. Using our Dynamic Composition, you can quickly whip up a simple banner or include external content such as video animation or overlays.
Guide customers online
In case your main field of activity takes place online, implement QR-codes beneath your digital signage content to lead viewers there. Even if you don’t feel like making custom visuals or don’t have the time, it’s a real shame to waste the attention on this day and not direct users to your online offers. It will take just a few minutes to make a QR-code and include it at the bottom of your main campaigns. Just write “Online Valentine’s Day Deals: Scan the Code!” beneath it, and you’re set.
Bring up offers on demand
In the days that are farther from Valentine’s day, you don’t want to take up the space of your main content since the excitement is not yet there. Still, you can start early and prepare your campaigns. Weeks before Valentine’s Day, add an on-demand campaign to your digital signage which the customer can bring up by scanning the “Valentine’s Day Deals” QR-code.
As a result, when they scan the QR-code, either bring up the campaign for sales in store, direct users online on their device, or both!
Provide directions to the products
Curiosity is in our nature. Even if we don’t actively seek out great deals, if someone tells us where they are and we happen to be in the area, everybody likes to take a look! As you bring in new products or create bundle offers, bring them together in one general area of the store. Your storefront displays can direct users quickly to these areas in a one-line message. Place them near high-traffic areas for maximum visibility.
Highlight available services
Gift-wrapping is the first service coming to mind, so remind shoppers at checkout, the storefront, or by the Valentine’s Day deals section.
This time can also be a good opportunity for partnerships. You could reach out to local businesses to sell space on your digital displays. Brainstorm on what’s available in town that would make a great gift for your customers. Activities for couples, be it sports or a relaxing day at the spa, are a great start! This won’t necessarily aim to make a ton of profit by selling space, but making an exciting deal for shoppers, and building connections with your surroundings. Furthermore, explore some additional tips and ideas on setting up specific offers for Valentine’s Day.
Save and reuse!
