The Digital Out-of-Home world is no different, as we have some highlights from recent events and already unveiled tech. Spheres and holograms coming to LED CHINA 2025

LED CHINA 2025 brings together a range of professional smart displays from the fields of advertising, public spaces, and more. Over 2,000 top Chinese brands will present their products and services in what is a great opportunity to catch a glimpse of more innovative tech.

This year’s event will feature giant LED spheres at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center (17-19 February). Holographic transparent LED screens will make an appearance, creating an illusion of various imagery floating in mid-air. Visitors will also have the opportunity to learn about the integration between VR/AR and LED displays for some truly unique experiences.

Recent investments in DOOH paint a picture of its future

The DOOH world is experiencing rapid growth and significant interest from ad investors. A recent post by invidis tried to discover what it is that makes Digital Out-of-Home so appealing. The documented growth over the recent years is another factor as it tells investors of future potential for this sector.

DOOH saw more than 20% sales growth last year alone in Germany. It’s easily one of the fastest growing channels, and the momentum continues as investors take notice. Programmatic outdoor advertising is changing the game completely, making campaign deployment more efficient and precise. It’s only the beginning. A display with adjustable width at CES 2025

CES took place earlier this month in Las Vegas, with thousands of exhibitors, attendees, and sights from the tech world. Take a look at all the event highlights on their website.

One particular gadget which stood out in the sea of tech is a flexible OLED display. Geared to the automotive sector, the display can expand to nearly double its width to provide additional information. It is intended for interaction and expanded on-demand. Of course, it comes across as a neat visual gadget more than anything else, since it’s a simple matter to scroll through content to access additional data. But it does truly provide that extra convenience and impact, and you could easily imagine it in other settings.

Whether a shopper wants to see a product demo, extra visuals, or just purely for fun, it does seem very cool! We’ll see how it does as time passes, but it surely was a highlight for DOOH in 2025 already!

Dubai welcomes 2025 with LEDs and fireworks

Already known for its stellar New Year’s Eve celebrations, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai has undergone a major upgrade, becoming even more special. Its new RGBW lighting system was unveiled during the 2025 New Year’s Eve celebration. The system replaced static lights, now enabling complex color-changing effects. Accompanied by the fireworks, January 1st in Dubai was quite a sight. Take a look!

This upgrade was not a simple thing to achieve. The six-month test phase ensured seamless integration and timely completion.
